Risk Assessment Score (RAS)

Risk Assessment Score (RAS)

The Compare Mode provides an easy ranking and comparing of the potential risks using the RAS. The potential risk of the selected substances in the working environment is greater if a higher value RAS is calculated. The Risk Assessment Score is calculated from the product of the classifications for Health Hazard (TOX) and for the possibility to exceed the Occupational Limit Value, with the new Threshold exceedance IndeX (TIX).

RAS = TIX * TOX

The value of RAS varies between 1 and 20. The parameter TIX has values from 1 to 4. Tthe parameter TOX has values from 1 to 4 (IFA Spaltenmodell) or 1 to 5 (COSHH ESsentials and [EMKG (Inhalation)](../08_reference_documentation/EMKG%20(Inhalation) Hazard Groups.md)).
